Tell about yourself a little bit… How did you become a photographer?

Hi there. My name is Kurt and I’m a 43 year old Englishman living in Okayama, Japan. I don’t actually call myself a photographer because for me this is just a hobby. Granted… it’s a passionate and emotional hobby and it’s all I think about and practice everyday but it’s still only a hobby. Would I love it to be more than that? Hell yes! But unfortunately it is just a hobby. I began to take photography seriously when I moved to Japan in 2009. The change in culture and seeing all the weird and wonderful things Japan has to offer is just impossible not to shoot. I began shooting film. I would buy bulk rolls of film and self load them onto canisters, shoot through the day and then turn my bedroom into a dark room during the night and develop and print, but due to the rising prices of film these days I only shoot digital now.
