I am Ermias, and I do not consider myself a photographer, photo enthusiast is perhaps the most appropriate term.
I got my first camera, a Fujifilm X-T1, in December 2023 because at a particular moment in my life I needed a new pair of glasses, to see better, or differently.
I pour into photography the ability to slow down time, observe better, and get in touch with the world, but also to alienate myself from it. For me, going out into the streets, bringing shapes and colors to life, with the intent of capturing the essence for me and for others, is an almost meditative practice.
It is a becoming and no longer the mere passive doing of everyday life.
