In 2026, Barcelona will be the World Capital of Architecture, a designation granted by UNESCO and the UIA. At the same time, it will also host the 29th UIA World Architecture Congress, being the most important international event in the field of Architecture.
That has been the leitmotiv of this PROJECT. It was born with the objective of disseminating and bringing a small part of good Architecture that all those who visit us and love Architecture and Photography like me, will be able to discover and enjoy walking through its streets. It has been difficult to choose only 20 Buildings, but all of them stand out for their uniqueness, for their geometric shapes, colors, patterns, in short for their beauty. They are equal parts UNIQUE and ICONIC. They were designed by both local and foreign Architects, of the highest level and international recognition, not in vain several of them have been winners of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the highest award given to the work of an Architect in recognition of their Projects and Built Works.
Among them are: Richard Rogers, Toyo Ito, Alvaro Siza, Ricardo Bofill, David Chipperfield, Jean Nouvel, GCA Architects, Massip-Bosch Architecture studio, Josep Antoni Coderch, Odile Decq, Iñigo Ortíz and Enrique León.
