I am a 47 year old street photographer and I have been doing this with increasing dedication since around 2018, but had rekindled my love for photography 4 years prior, around 2014. The more you see, the more you learn, the more you shoot and the more I shoot, the more I see…and so the cycle continues. I love that process. It holds true for street photography especially, I find. Because even if I were to take a shot of the same place, every single day at the exact same time for a year, still each image would be different. What’s not to love about that? And what is not to love about learning to really see, noticing what goes unnoticed by the masses? Being in tune with a city and its streets when I am out and about with my camera is simply the best. I hope to meet you, fellow (street) photographers, in the streets some day, wherever that may be, because shared joy is twice the joy.
