“Immortal – Are” derives its name from the Italian verb “immortalare,”which means to eternally preserve a moment by capturing it in an image. The displayed images narrate powerful stories, traversing the most challenging and complex realities of human life. The goal of this collection is to present myself by recounting the lives of others. The photographs feature young and elderly Colombians living their daily lives in the favelas, beaches and huts in the Amazon forest, capturing faces etched with the struggles of daily life, moments of pain and resilience, but also instances of hidden and incredible beauty. Nature, emerge as a main character of this visual narrative, accompanies human stories with its eternal breath: pristine landscapes, boundless skies, and lights and shadows that dance with reality. “Immortal – Are” invites viewers to look beyond the image, to uncover the story behind each gaze and scene, and to celebrate the power of photography as a tool to preserve the essence of humanity, making it eternal.
