Philipp Küter: Silent Paths and Urban Echoes

Foreword

It is a great pleasure and honor to be featured in this issue and to share my work as a photographer with you. Born and raised in Dortmund, I have found my hometown to be a significant source of inspiration. However, my photography is not confined to one place – my camera travels with me, capturing unique scenes and moments in cities and landscapes around the world.

This issue showcases 20 photographs selected from my Albums „Urban Echoes“ and „Silent Paths“:

The photo project “Urban Echoes” is a visual exploration of urban environments, where the absence of people evokes a special sense of calm and timelessness. An old red chair in front of a weathered building facade, an old truck resting on a seaside promenade. Each image tells its own story, inviting the viewer to discover the quiet beauty and character of these forgotten or overlooked places. “Urban Echoes” conveys a deep, almost meditative atmosphere.

In my photo series “Silent Paths – People in Urban Places,” I capture the quiet moments of urban life. Each of the images portrays people in everyday situations – whether it’s someone waiting at a train platform or a woman preparing her market stall. The calm atmosphere give the photos a unique aesthetic that invites pause and reflection. My goal was to create scenes that resonate not only within the context of the series but also as individual prints, drawing the viewer into the silent paths of urban life.

I hope that my photographs in this issue will inspire you to see the world through new eyes and to experience the unique atmosphere of the various places I have traveled through my lens.
