When I learned photography, there was only analogue photography. I came back to it because it is the craft that fascinates me.
A single analogue snapshot satisfies me a hundred times more than the one successful digital photo from a hundred shots. The satisfaction you feel from mastering your craft, after the negatives become visible in the darkroom, is hard to beat.
I need time in the darkroom every now and then. It calms me down, helps with my mental hygiene and you have something tangible afterwards. There are people who say that a photo is only a photo when you can hold it in your hands. I agree with that.
These photos were taken in everyday life when I had my Leica with me. Without any professional assignment, simply out of passion. As Lee Friedlander once said: I tend to photograph the things that get in front of my camera.
