Stéphane Boudon: Hopperesque Moments
A “Hopperesque” moment refers to a scene or experience that evokes the qualities found in the paintings of Edward Hopper, the American realist known for his depictions of solitude, isolation, and quiet introspection in everyday settings. I’m trying to inspire myself from his work, with my own eyes and sensibility using photography. Such a moment captures a sense of internal conflict or contemplation, with characters appearing lost in thought or caught between action and inaction. It’s unclear what they think or feel, leaving room for interpretation.
