A series of self-portraits which express a mood, a feeling or an emotion.
Emotions are often expressed through the face. By hiding my face I try to convey emotions in a different way. Through utilising the body as an object, using body language or (the body in relation to) the scenery.
Also by not showing my face I try to create a distance between myself as a person and myself as a model.
By using faceless self-portraits and giving no explanation the viewer can make his own interpretation.
These photo’s are from the series M O O D – indoor, mostly shot at my own house or workspace in the period 2016- 2023.
