Tell about yourself a little bit… How did you become a photographer?

Hi, my name is Stefanie and I am an Architect based in Hamburg Germany.

In my early days, due to my studies, my first approach was architectural photography doing my best to avoid people in my photographs. Only a few years ago, in 2019, I discovered my REAL passion for photography more or less by accident. People are now playing the main role in my art with architecture creating the background.

As an avid traveler, I started to combine my passion for exploring with the many surprises and special moments that only occur on city streets. Contrasts, colors, and the beauty in everyday moments of human life and emotion as they unfold on the street inspires me. I love to use architecture with its contrast and structure as a setting for people framed in their urban environment. You can often find my architectural background in my photography as I am still very much drawn by lines, structures, and shadows.

With my interest in abstract (street) photography, I love experimenting with reflection, silhouettes, bokeh and motion blur and I always try to create a picture with my personal reduced aesthetic, more artistic than documentary.
