Tell about yourself a little bit… How did you become a photographer?

I am a self-learned photographer who started photographing around 1998 under the influence of Elias Santos, an artist from Bahia, Brazil, whose nude images inspired me because of its colors, its vigor, and its strangeness. At first I experimented around, trying to imitate Elias and other photographers that I admired (Araki, Sherman and Mapplethorpe). After many years working with nude and experimental photography, in 2019, I came across the stunning work of Gustavo Minas and other very talented Brazilian streetphotographers. Since then I’ve been taking my camera everywhere.

What has been the biggest lesson you have learned as a photographer?

Mistakes are important. Technically perfect images…
