Daniel Warrington & Jahdeya Daniel-Reid

Hi, my name is Daniel Warrington. My passion for photography began in 2018 as a hobby which was when I started studying filmmaking at university where I specialised in Cinematography, in 2021 I found photography really helped me with my mental health I learned the basics of photography on dog walks with my dad. It wasn’t until I went back to study for my Masters in Creative Practice that I truly understood the power of pushing out of your comfort zone because that is where you learn the most I feel. My favourite genre of photography is street you never know what you’re going to encounter; one of the things I’ve learned from making small films with my friends is to go in fully prepared but be ready to let happy accidents happen or be flexible to allow for new ideas on the day that might have been better than some of our initial ideas! I find my process of creating images has changed over time I used to love the rush and thrill of chasing it but now I like to find a frame that I really like compositionally and wait for something interesting to happen! 

My name is Jahdeya Daniel – Reid. From a young age I was heavily inspired by my brother’s photography, I would sit with him and he would show me his college portfolio. I had no idea that he would become one of my biggest inspirations. This inspired me to study photography as an A-level but it was also taking that A-Level class that almost made me never want to pick up a camera ever again due to the amount of artist research that was involved, I just wanted to take photos and not have to explain why I’d taken them the way I did! I finished my a-levels and tried to make money selling prints of my own photography, I realised that I wanted to understand the technicalities of working a camera and get into working with clients. Since then, I worked on further learning the fundamentals of photography and started taking my camera everywhere. Now I love taking photos, mostly portraits, flowers, architecture and when I have time I like to get on Photoshop and get creative with image manipulation.
