James Durn

I’m a West London born and based amateur photographer who loves analogue photography. I love to travel, and it’s when I’m travelling that much of my shooting takes place, particularly when I’m in cities or places with great history and lots of cool buildings to take photos of. London’s a really cool environment in that way, and it’s really nice to have such a great environment for shooting film right on my doorstep. Whilst I enjoy shooting colour, I’m most at home with black and white film. It’s tonnes of fun to load some into a point and shoot and just force yourself to think a certain way: to focus on shapes and shadows, and strip the process back to real basics. It might not always work out, but that’s when I have the most fun, and that’s what counts. Good results are a nice byproduct!
