Muhammad Farhan Osman: The Rakine

The Rakine is a poignant documentary photography project that delves into the untold stories of the Rohingya refugees, a stateless minority group hailing from Myanmar’s Rakhine State. This critically important project seeks to humanize the crisis, amplifying the voices of those who have endured unimaginable violence, displacement, and hardship.

For decades, the Rohingya have faced systemic persecution, violence, and discrimination, culminating in a brutal military crackdown in 2017 that forced over 700,000 individuals to flee their homeland. Today, they remain in limbo, living in overcrowded refugee camps in Bangladesh, stripped of their basic rights, dignity, and identity.
