This series is a summary of a humble book I created to organize myself during my time in Peru called “Jam: Street Photography in Perú”. When I started taking photographs on the street, I didn’t know that there was this style of “Street Photography”, nor did I know great photographers. It was something that happened, as naturally it should be. Photograph the surroundings. I went out walking, seeing rare things on the streets. I started to make a parallel, and for me personally, the Street is like a Jam session. After a few Jam sessions, a concrete album or no. Likewise, after a lot of walking along the street, looking at everyday life, taking photographs, you will be able to find themes and put together essays or not. The thing was to go out and walk and see the life that happens, the circumstances, the magic. For me, it wasn’t just causal facts, but at the same time. He had a lot of intuition when walking along the streets, a lot of improvisation, a lot of being and flowing with his eyes, and feeling, and being surrendered to what happened. One second and you lose it all. So going out on the street became something routine. That was when I discovered that there was a universe called Street Photography. I discovered that I wasn’t alone, and that even if I preferred to go out alone rather than walk, there were more people doing it, which greatly enhanced my potential. Although the images work individually, for me, together, they form part of this discovery, they connect between these little “Jam sessions” that I did when walking the streets. I dedicate this series to Peru, the place where these photos were taken, where I danced and co-created with the surroundings I walked around. A place that welcomed me and revived photography in me.
